Envoy confident Russia will respond to new Canadian sanctions

According to Oleg Stepanov, countries "always act on the principle of reciprocity"

OTTAWA, February 4. /TASS/. Moscow will retaliate for Canada’s latest anti-Russian sanctions, Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov told TASS on Friday.

"There will be a response, as we have always been guided by the principle of reciprocity," he said. "We will respond to every unfriendly action on the part of the Canadian authorities."

On Friday, Canada imposed restrictions on 38 Russian individuals and 16 entities which, Ottawa said, were involved in "Russian propaganda".
