MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Russia and Africa are looking for new methods to collaborate that do not rely on Western currencies or sanctions policy, and they are determined to develop a new architecture of trade and economic relations, Ambassador at large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Oleg Ozerov said in an interview with TASS.
"Our goal today is to find alternative avenues of collaboration [between Russia and Africa] that do not rely on Western currencies or sanctions policy. Of course, illegal sanctions imposed on Russia have a negative impact on foreign economic relations, necessitating an urgent reconfiguration of the instruments of cooperation," he stated.
The ambassador emphasized that the parties are first and foremost concerned with maintaining uninterrupted logistics and developing independent financial settlement mechanisms. "Work is underway to protect and strengthen the mutually advantageous Russian-African partnership, particularly in trade and investment relations, and to help the entry of Russian and African economic operators into our nations' markets in any possible manner," he added.
According to Ozerov, both sides are interested in expanding multifaceted cooperation. "We are expecting a collaborative search for solutions and are determined to work closely to develop a new architecture of trade and economic ties," he said.
