Crimea Bridge lighting to be launched shortly — government

All required parts and resources for repair should be delivered promptly, the Deputy Prime Minister noted

TASS, October 9. Lighting on the Crimea Bridge will be restored in coming hours to organize the two-shift repair efforts, the Russian Government said on its website after the action meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"Bridge lighting should be restored in coming hours in order to carry operations twenty four hours a day in two shifts with the maximal load," the Government said.

All required parts and resources for repair should be delivered promptly, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimea Bridge, setting on fire the fuel tanks of a freight train running near along its rail part. Three people were killed and two eastbound sections of the bridge’s road part collapsed. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the accident. Rail traffic restarted on the bridge, which was also partly reopened for buses and automobiles.
