RABAT, March 11. /TASS/. A Royal Air Maroc plane en route from Moscow to Casablanca made an emergency landing in Tangier in the northern part of Morocco because of an engine incident, according to Galina Todt, commercial manager of the airline’s Moscow office, who was aboard that plane.
According to Todt, no one was injured in the incident.
"About one hour before the landing before landing in the Casablanca airport, an explosion occurred in the right turbine, after which the plane started shaking slightly, and the plane rolled to the right, but the pilot straightened it. In 10 minutes, the passengers were told that the plane will make an emergency landing for a technical inspection," Todt said.
"No one was injured. It should be noted that the flight attendants were calm and explained the situation to the passengers correctly," she continued.
"The passengers stayed inside the plane for about an hour, approximately. After that, they were transported to the airport by bus, where they were able to pass a passport control, receive their luggage and contact the Royal Air Maroc stand," she said.
She added that the airline will provide a transfer to the next flight to the intended destination, or will provide a hotel accommodation, if the next flight is scheduled for the next day.
