Krasnoyarsk and Norilsk Nickel to have joint educational program

KRASNOYARSK, March 1. /TASS/. Authorities of the Krasnoyarsk territory and the Norilsk Nickel Company are working on a program for training specialists for the mining-metallurgical complex, press service of the Company’s local office said on Wednesday.

"Norilsk Nickel’s President Vladimir Potanin and the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s Governor Viktor Tolokonsky have signed an agreement on cooperation in developing professional and additional education in the region," the press service said.

The joint work will be helpful for bringing closer the educational problems and the realistic demand from industries. It will also be crucial for forecasting demand in qualified specialists and skilled workers.

"We are interested in having young talented people, and are ready to invest in their training," the press service quoted the Company’s head. "The labor force nowadays should be able to manage big projects, should have business skills, and education should be based on realistic demand from businesses and on their priorities, it should be means for settlement of strategic tasks."

"This is why parallel to support of the entire regional educational system the corporate education in Norilsk is being transferred," he added.
