MOSCOW, January 16 /ITAR-TASS/. The Gross Regional Product (GRP) of the Krasnodar Territory went up by more than 40 percent over the past seven years, Krasnodar Governor Alexander Tkachev told a government meeting on Thursday.
“Implementation of the Olympic project allowed the Krasnodar territory to raise its GRP by more than 40 percent in recent years,” the governor said, adding, “the territory’s share in the gross regional product increased from 2.3 to 2.8 percent.”
Moreover, the officially registered unemployment rate dropped to 0.6 percent in 2013 in the region, and to 0.1 percent in Sochi (the capital of the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games), Tkachev said.
