BELOKURIKHA /Altai Krai/, June 26. /TASS/. Russia’s advances in industrial and service robots have made competing with China in this field a real possibility, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Alexander Shokhin said.
He was speaking at a session of the RSPP Federal Council titled "Labor productivity as the basis for sustainable economic development: robotization, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems."
"Our manufacturers of industrial and service robots should think about how to enter the markets of other countries. Obviously, it’s not so easy to compete with China in this area, but our goal is not to make anthropomorphic robots that do martial arts. For us, industrial and service robots are of greater importance," Shokhin stated.
He added that Russia has made strides in this sphere. "Certainly, technological cooperation with China is also an essential line of work here," the official said, stressing that "at the same time, we should not be ‘import-substituted’ with Chinese chips and so on."
According to Shokhin, the topic of the meeting - labor productivity growth - is directly related to this area. "This is not only ‘lean production,’ but also investments in technology, robotization, automation of production and introduction of artificial intelligence," Shokhin concluded.
