MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Mineral fertilizers production gained 7% annually and was above 63 mln metric tons as of the end of 2024, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said, cited by his office.
"Current indicators of the mineral fertilizer market enable us to confidently say that the sector formed in Russia is among the world’s strongest. We are at the second position in the global rating by the production volume of mineral fertilizers. We indeed register annual growth. Production was above 63 mln metric tons in 2024. This is 7% more than a year earlier," Patrushev said.
Gradual increase of indicators is again set in forecast estimates for 2025, the official noted. Sound production volumes enable Russia to scale up export supplies from year to year.
"We have the status of one of the largest exporters. And this is our contribution to global food security. However, considering tremendous opportunities, we need to develop further in a balanced way, taking into account government needs and business interests," the deputy prime minister added.
