MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. The MOEX index declined by 1.44% to 3,210.58 points, the RTS index went down by 1.44% to 1,240.96 points at the opening of trading on the Moscow Exchange as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time.
At the opening of trading, the yuan-to-ruble exchange rate grew by 9.55 kopecks compared to the closing level of the previous trading and amounted to 11.3145 rubles.
By 10:15 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX index accelerated its decline and was at 3,202.38 points (-1.69%), the RTS index was 1,237.79 points (-1.69%). Meanwhile, the yuan exchange rate accelerated its growth and was trading at 11.434 rubles (+21.5 kopecks).
At the opening of the morning trading session, the MICEX index (with the additional code IMOEX2) fell by 1.34% and was at 3,213.69 points, according to trading platform data at 07:00 a. m. Moscow time.
The Moscow Exchange has suspended trading in dollars and euros since June 13, 2024, due to US sanctions imposed against it and the National Clearing Center. To determine the dollar and euro to ruble exchange rates, the Bank of Russia uses bank statements and information from over-the-counter trading.
