MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. The upcoming telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump will help ensure nuclear safety and stability, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said.
"Of course, our main expectation from the entire peace process and talks is stability and respect for Russia's interests," he said in response to a TASS question about his expectations for the outcome of the Putin-Tramp conversation. "Nuclear safety is definitely one of the priorities. In this regard both the Zaporozhye and the Kursk Nuclear Power Plants are the focus of special attention," the Rosatom CEO pointed out.
Commenting on the prospects of joint exploitation of the Zaporozhye NPP by Rosatom and Ukraine’s Energoatom, Likhachev emphasized that he saw "no point in it."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the issue of nuclear infrastructure exploitation would be one of the topics of his telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
