Putin sees increase in supply of goods, services as main response to inflation challenge

The Russian leader recalled that he had set the task for the government to more clearly prioritize support measures provided to economic sectors from the federal budget

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that an increase in the supply of goods and services is the main response to the inflation challenge.

"The main response to the inflation challenge is to increase the supply of goods and services on the market so that their volume meets domestic demand from both citizens and businesses that are planning to upgrade and expand their production capacity, invest in construction, in the purchase of equipment, in development," he said at the 15th VTB Russia Calling! Investment Forum.

Putin recalled that he had set the task for the government to more clearly prioritize support measures provided to economic sectors from the federal budget.

"I also ask you to continue to fine-tune the regulatory framework and remove excessive administrative barriers for businesses," he added.

The head of state stressed that all these mechanisms should contribute to the expansion of production, the opening of new industries and the strengthening of the country's technological sovereignty. "We should take into account that we are acting in conditions of containing inflation, implementing tough approaches in budget policy and must adjust credit policy accordingly," the President concluded.
