MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Freight turnover of Russian seaports may slip by a couple of percent in 2024, while next year it is expected to grow, Deputy Transport Minister Alexander Poshivay told reporters.
"There will be a decline by a couple of percent," he said when asked about projections for 2024, adding that precise figures will be known after the year’s results are confirmed.
Poshivay also voiced expectations for next year: "We hope that [freight turnover] will at least recover, and it will most likely increase."
According to the Association of Commercial Seaports, freight turnover of Russian seaports amounted to 743 mln tons in January-October 2024, which is 3.2% lower than in the previous year.
