Russia, China eyeing new gas route via Kazakhstan — Novak

Consideration of the route is at the initial phase, the Russian official said

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russia and China are currently considering a new gas route via Kazakhstan for 35 bln cubic meters, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at the Sino-Russian cooperation forum.

"We are potentially considering now with Chinese friends a new route via Kazakhstan, which may also total up to 35 bln cubic meters of gas," Novak said.

Consideration of the route of gas supplies to China is at the initial phase and it may pass via Eastern Kazakhstan, the official added.
