State Duma, Russian government will develop guidelines of progressive taxation — Kremlin

"The main approaches for this will be developed and proposed by the State Duma and the government," Dmitry Peskov said

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. The guidelines of progressive taxation will be developed and proposed by the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, and the Russian government, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"The President spoke about fair taxation. The point was that the main approaches and technologies for this, appropriate for the current moment, should be proposed by our people’s representatives from the State Duma, as well as the cabinet [of ministers]," he said.

"The main approaches for this will be developed and proposed by the State Duma and the government," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Earlier, in his address to the Federal Assembly, President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to consider "a more equitable distribution of the tax burden" towards those with higher personal and corporate incomes. In turn, according to the President, it is necessary to reduce the tax burden on families and those who receive less income.
