Russia offers cooperation in oil, gas exploration to Nigeria

The parties also discussed cooperation in creating a chain of natural gas refueling sites

MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. Russia is ready to cooperate with Nigeria in exploration of oil and gas fields, including offshore ones, Energy Minister of Russia Nikolay Shulginov said at the meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources Ekperikpe Ekpo within the framework of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Algeria.

"Russian companies are ready to offer its services for prospecting and exploration of raw hydrocarbon resources and completion of offshore seismic operations in Nigeria," Shulginov said, cited on the Telegram channel of the Russian Energy Ministry.

The parties also discussed cooperation in creating a chain of natural gas refueling sites.

"They took interest of mobile LNG refueling stations. We have good cooperation within the OPEC framework; [they] want to cooperate more in respect of gas also," Shulginov added.

The parties noted that they are interested in developing the energy dialog in all areas, including in respect of geological efforts, and also discussed interaction in the format of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum and cooperation in the OPEC+.
