Russia and Tajikistan sign customs agreement — Federal Customs Service

According to the service, the agreement will simplify and speed up the movement of goods between countries for law-abiding participants in foreign economic activity

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The Custom services of Russia and Tajikistan have signed an agreement on mutual recognition of authorized economic operator institutions by the two countries, the press service of the Russian Federal Customs Service told reporters.

"On November 21, in the Kremlin, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the customs services of Russia and Tajikistan signed an agreement on the mutual recognition of the relevant institutions of the authorized economic operator. The document was signed by the acting head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia Ruslan Davydov and the head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Khurshed Karimzoda," the press service said.

As noted by the Federal Customs Service, the agreement will simplify and speed up the movement of goods between countries for law-abiding participants in foreign economic activity. For direct deliveries between authorized economic operators of Russia and Tajikistan, customs operations, as well as customs inspection will be carried out as a matter of priority. However, documentary and actual customs control will be carried out to the minimum extent necessary to comply with customs legislation.
