Russia and UAE discuss issues of industrial cooperation

In particular, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of standardization and certification

ABU DHABI, November 1132. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov has discussed issues of industrial cooperation with the UAE Minister of Industry and High Technologies Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.

In particular, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of standardization and certification.

"First of all, this includes oil and gas engineering, which is in demand in the Emirates market, and which we have been doing since 2014, especially as part of our import substitution program for oil and gas machinery. We are seeing some results today. A certain number of standards have already been adopted, in particular, 17 that operate in Russia and the Emirates," Manturov said.

Another area of cooperation touched on during the negotiations was the pharmaceutical industry. According to Manturov, Russian companies are already exploring the UAE market.
