BENGALURU /India/, February 15. /TASS/. The Russian delegation is discussing with the Indian side the prospects for manufacturing aviation components for civil projects in India, CEO of the Irkut Corporation (part of Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation, UAC) Andrey Boginsky told TASS on Wednesday.
"Today, generally we are discussing not only the possibility of industrial cooperation with potential partners, but also other types of collaboration - such as manufacturing components locally or using the existing components for various civil projects," he said.
General Director of UAC Yury Slyusar said on Tuesday that UAC was in talks with India on the prospects of localizing civil aircraft manufacture in the country. This includes the construction of SSJ-100 aircraft in India, as well as collaboration on Il-114 and MC-21 aircraft, according to Slyusar.
"Cooperation in the civil sector is the third area that has emerged lately. We offer the Il-114, as well as collaboration on the MC-21. One of the current topics is the possibility of starting production of SSJ-100 aircraft in a basic version with a European certificate, which the SSJ-100 has received," he said. "In addition, we propose localizing civilian projects at the HAL company's facilities, which manufactures military equipment," Slyusar added.
According to him, the Indian manufacturing industry could be interested in such discussion from the standpoint of "possibility of obtaining civil aircraft localized here."
