Russia’s LNG exports up to 46 bcm in 2022, says Novak

Russia plans to reach the production of 60 mln tons of LNG per year in coming years, and later to increase output to 100 mln tons

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Russia’s exports of liquified natural gas (LNG) went up to 46 bln cubic meters in 2022, whereas pipeline gas supplies fell due to sanctions-related restrictions and accidents at Nord Stream pipelines, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a meeting headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Monday.

"As a result of sanctions-related restrictions and accidents at Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines, exports of pipeline gas decreased. Meanwhile the production and export of liquified natural gas rose by 8% to 46 bln cubic meters of gas per year," he said.

Novak said in an interview with TASS earlier that Russia’s LNG supplies to the EU market would grow to 21 bln cubic meters in 2022, while the production and export of LNG would increase by more than 8.7%.

Russia plans to reach the production of 60 mln tons of LNG per year in coming years, and later to increase output to 100 mln tons.

A total 484 bln cubic meters of gas was delivered to the domestic market last year, Deputy PM added.
