New positioning system improves flamethrower accuracy

This system also makes it possible to reduce combat time at a firing position without the combat vehicle leaving by a crew and a commander

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. A new navigation system for the TOS-1A Solntsepyok flamethrower system made it possible to increase accuracy to several meters, CEO of the Signal Research Institute Vladimir Pimenov said on the air with Zvezda Plus television.

"CBR troops asked whether we have research solutions for greater flexibility of Solntsepyok operation at firing positions. We offered our positioning system, which makes it possible to reduce combat time at a firing position without the combat vehicle leaving by a crew and a commander," Pimenov said.

"It improved operating accuracy to a few meters," the chief executive added.
