VLADIVOSTOK, April 13. /TASS/. The corvettes Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, Gromky, and Sovershenny of the Russian Pacific Fleet launched an exercise to practice deployment in a designated area, the Fleet reported on Thursday.
"Before the corvettes went to sea, they were put on alert, after which the crews practiced emergency preparations for combat and a sail," the Pacific Fleet said. "At the initial stage of the exercise, the warships successfully practiced passing narrow waters in a group and communication training," it added.
At the next stage, the sailors will conduct training of anti-aircraft and anti-submarine defense strategies while simulating the search and destruction of an `enemy’ submarine. Ka-27PL helicopters of the Pacific Fleet Navy aviation will take part in the search. The final stage will include training for shipboard anti-sabotage support units involving practical anti-sabotage grenade launching.
The drill is part of the Pacific Fleet’s combat training plan.
