Russia finds worrisome the activity of the Islamic State (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia - TASS) in the northern regions of Afghanistan, the special presidential representative for Afghanistan, director of the Foreign Ministry’s second Asian department Zamir Kabulov said at consultations on Afghanistan in Moscow on Wednesday.

"Our particular concern is caused by the remaining influence of the Islamic State in the northern regions of the country, bordering on our Central Asian partners," she said.
