Russia to open humanitarian corridor from Mariupol based on requests from Macron, Scholz

MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Russia will open a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Zaporozhye on April 1 based on requests from French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said on Thursday.

"Based on personal requests from the French president and the German chancellor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Armed Forces will once again open a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol to Zaporozhye (with a stop in Berdyansk) at 10:00 am on April 1. In order to ensure the success of this humanitarian operation, it is planned to be conducted with the direct participation of representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Committee of the Red Cross," Mizintsev noted.
