NEW YORK, March 13. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump did not specify a timeline for the end of the conflict in the Middle East during a telephone conversation with leaders of the Group of Seven (G7), the Axios portal reported, citing sources.
According to the publication, the US leader said that the main issue he is working on is the timing of the operation. He added that the United States primarily needs to "finish the job."
Another source for the portal stated that the US president was "ambiguous and evasive" regarding the country’s goals in the conflict, as well as the timeline for its conclusion.
The United States and Israel launched a military operation against Iran on February 28. Major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were struck. The White House justified the attack by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a retaliatory operation, targeting sites in Israel. US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were also hit. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and some other key Iranian leaders were killed in the joint US-Israeli attack.
