MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Israel knows that Russian national Alexander Trufanov should be released from Hamas captivity during phase 1 of the Gaza ceasefire deal, Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Simona Halperin said in an interview.

"Russia’s Trufanov is alive. It is still current that he should be released during phase 1 of the deal," she said.

In mid-January, Israel and Hamas reached a deal to hold a ceasefire that took effect on January 19. The first phase of the deal, which is set to last 42 days, stipulates that Hamas will release at least 33 Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. Trufanov is among the hostages listed for release.
