WASHINGTON, February 12. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky said during a conversation with US President Donald Trump that he is ready to conclude the Ukrainian conflict, according to a statement on Trump's Truth Social page.
"I just spoke to <…> Vladimir Zelensky. The conversation went very well. He, like [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin, wants to make peace," Trump wrote.
"We discussed a variety of topics having to do with the war, but mostly, the meeting that is being set up on Friday in Munich, where Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will lead the [US] delegation [to the Munich Security Conference]. I am hopeful that the results of that meeting will be positive. It is time to stop this ridiculous war, where there has been massive, and totally unnecessary, death and destruction. God bless the people of Russia and Ukraine!" the US leader said.
Before that, Trump also had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Earlier, Politico reported, citing sources, that JD Vance will meet with Zelensky on February 14 on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. According to the newspaper, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg will also attend the conference.
