TEL AVIV, December 15. /TASS/. A high-ranking Israeli official noted "significant progress" in talks with the Palestine’s Hamas movement on the hostages deal, the Israel’s Ynet news portal reports.
Key details of the deal are now kept secret to avoid political interference that may disrupt it, the official said. Heads of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad and the Israeli Security Agency "reported to the Cabinet that Hamas demonstrated readiness to reach the agreement that had not been present before," he noted. "The assessment is that the agreement can be reached during several weeks," the official noted. He explained the change in the Hamas’ position by continuing Israeli strikes and the forthcoming inauguration of Donald Trump as the US President, the news outlet said.
