West tired of Ukrainian conflict, while Russia ready to continue it — magazine

WASHINGTON, November 27. /TASS/. Western countries are tired of the conflict in Ukraine, while Russia has the strength to continue it, Foreign Policy said.

According to the magazine’s estimates, after almost three years since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, Western countries are tired of the conflict. Foreign Policy noted that the West "no longer has the political will to help Ukraine win by military means" and is trying to achieve peace through negotiations with Russia. At the same time, Moscow "still mobilizes resources with frightening force" and has no shortage of ammunition and volunteers willing to go to the front. The magazine added that "any [peace] deal will amount to Ukraine’s - and the West’s - capitulation to Russia."

The article pointed out that economically, Russia has reoriented itself eastward, increasing trade with China, India and other countries in Asia and the Middle East. "On the global stage, Russia has managed to upgrade its status from a regional power to a leader of the anti-Western coalition," Foreign Policy emphasized.

On November 26, Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin said that Russia was open to negotiations on Ukraine on the terms announced by President Vladimir Putin, and that it was in the West's interest to accept these terms as soon as possible. The SVR chief emphasized the need to establish a lasting and long-term peace in and around Ukraine for a long time.
