Head of CIS observation mission dismisses US’ allegations on Belarusian elections

Sergey Lebedev noted that, overall, CIS observers visited a total of 1,819 voting stations

MINSK, February 26. /TASS/. The US’ statements that the parliamentary elections in Belarus were bogus and allegedly took place in the atmosphere of fear are completely groundless, says Sergey Lebedev, head of the CIS observation mission.

"I have read the commentary of the US Department of State. […] This is a total nonsense," he said during the press conference after the elections.

Lebedev noted that, overall, CIS observers visited a total of 1,819 voting stations and have "seen no atmosphere of fear at any point."
