BEIRUT, January 5. /TASS/. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq Shiite movement said on Thursday it had hit two US military bases in Syria.
According to a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the attacks targeted a base located near the al-Omar oil field in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor governorate and a US military facility near the Rukban refugee camp near the Syrian border city of al-Tanf.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said that the attacks had been committed with the use of drones as a response to Israel’s massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and were part of efforts "to resist American occupational forces in Iraq and in the region."
No details about the consequences of the attacks were provided.
Earlier, Shiite units warned the United that they would increase the number of armed operations in Syria and Iraq, once the United States continues providing military aid to the Israeli army, "which is killing civilians in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.".
