MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. At least 40% of consumers were left without heating in Kiev amid a power outage on Thursday, Mayor Vitaly Klichko reported.
"Emergency blackouts left 40% of consumers in the capital without heating," the official wrote on his Telegram channel. He also said that 15% of residents were left without electricity, while tap water supply was normal. However, the Kievvodokanal water supply company warned about potential disruptions earlier.
On Thursday morning, Ukrainian media reported powerful explosions in the Ukrainian capital, with a heavy smoke being seen billowing in the skies. According to Klichko, explosions occurred in Kiev’s Goloseyevsky district. More blasts were heard in the city’s Svyatoshinsky district later. Emergency power cuts were introduced in Kiev.
