Zelensky meets with Canadian PM in Kiev

On his visit to Ukraine, Trudeau is accompanied by his deputy Chrystia Freeland and Foreign Minister Melanie Joly

KIEV, May 8. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met in Kiev with Canadian Prime Minister Justine Trudeau. Photos of the meeting were posted on Zelensky’s Telegram channel on Sunday.

"Canada is among the leaders of support for Ukraine ion its struggle for freedom. The fact that Canadian Prime Minister Justine Trudeau is today with the Ukrainian people means a lot for us. I am convinced that we will be able to cope with all challenges through consolidated efforts," Zelensky wrote.

Earlier on Sunday, the Canadian prime minister visited the city of Ipren near Kiev. According to CTV, he also hoisted the Canadian flag over the building of its embassy in Kiev.

The embassy was relocated to Lvov in early February and later - to Poland.
