Sputnik Light suggested to European countries as booster — vaccine Twitter account

According to the statement, Sputnik V made an offer to Pfizer to use its 1st component, Sputnik Light, as a booster on Aug. 11, 2021

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Sputnik Light, the first component of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, is being offered to European countries as a booster, according to the official Twitter account of the Sputnik V vaccine.

"Sputnik V made an offer to Pfizer to use its 1st component, Sputnik Light, as a booster on Aug. 11, 2021. This offer is now extended to European countries, struggling to cope with Pfizer’s falling efficacy," the tweet says.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) made a proposal to start trials with the Sputnik Light as the booster in August 2021.

A new study published in The Lancet showed that Pfizer vaccine’s efficacy against COVID-19 declined to 47% in six months after 2nd dose, vaccine developers wrote. "1-shot Sputnik Light’s protection strengthens 6 months after vaccination, making it ideal booster for Pfizer also in Europe," they tweeted.
