Russia not to participate in UEFA Women's EURO 2022 final tournament

The International Federation of Football Associations announced in late February that the Russian national team and all professional clubs representing the country were barred from taking part in FIFA and UEFA

MOSCOW, May 2. /TASS/. Russia will not participate in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final tournament, the press service of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) said in a statement on Monday.

"Russia will not participate in group C of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final tournament scheduled between 6 and 31 July in England and will be replaced by Portugal, the opponent Russia defeated in the play-offs," the statement said.

The International Federation of Football Associations announced in late February that the Russian national team and all professional clubs representing the country were barred from taking part in FIFA and UEFA tournaments over the situation in Ukraine.
