MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. Most Russians intend to spend New Year's Eve at home with their families, according to the data of the Weber sociological agency, which was obtained by TASS.
The poll results revealed that 77% of respondents haven't yet felt the New Year spirit. At the same time, 42% plan to celebrate the holiday, while 34% do not plan to.
"Nearly three-quarters (72%) of Russians consider New Year to be the primary family holiday. Most respondents will spend New Year's Eve at home (78%), surrounded by family (69%)," the poll results stated.
It is noteworthy that watching the film The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath on New Year's Eve is considered an important tradition by many in Russia (40%), although 44% view it as outdated. Moreover, 32% of respondents favor stopping its broadcast on television.
As for setting off fireworks on New Year's Eve, more than half (58%) of respondents see nothing wrong with it. However, 30% take the contrary view, believing it should be prohibited.
Additionally, the majority of Russians are content with the length of the New Year holidays, as indicated by 41% of respondents. Meanwhile, 29% believe the number of holiday days should be shortened, and 17% advocate for extending the January holidays.
When asked how many days they need for a proper rest, 27% said that holidays should last three to four days. One in ten respondents would prefer a two-week or longer break, while 7% would be satisfied with up to two days off during the New Year holidays.

The nationwide online survey was conducted on December 10-11. A total of 1,200 people were surveyed.
