Moscow mayor reveals number of injured in Crocus terrorist attack in capital’s hospitals

Sergey Sobyanin said that the number of patients in critical condition has decreased threefold

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. A total of 60 people injured in the March 22 terrorist attack on a crowded event at the Crocus City Hall music venue in a Moscow suburb remain in Moscow hospitals, the capital’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said.

"A total of 94 people have been admitted to Moscow hospitals. Thirty-four have already been discharged, and today 60 people continue to receive treatment. The number of patients in critical condition has decreased threefold. None of those admitted to hospitals in a serious condition died," the mayor said.

He added that nearly 400 firefighters and rescuers, over 140 units of firefighting equipment, 44 ambulance crews and three medical helicopters were involved in extinguishing the Crocus City Hall fire.

"Doctors are doing everything possible to save lives and ensure the quickest possible recovery of all injured. More than 100 ambulance doctors, more than 700 doctors and nurses working double shifts were involved in saving the injured," Sobyanin said.

Terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, just over the Moscow city limits. The current death toll is 139, and 182 people were injured. Eleven individuals suspected of being involved in the terrorist attack have been apprehended, including four gunmen who were detained in the Bryansk Region, southwest of Moscow, as they attempted to seek refuge by crossing the nearby Ukrainian border. President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address that, according to preliminary information, the Ukrainian side had prepared "a window" in the border especially for the terrorists to cross undetected. He promised to identify and punish all those who were behind the attack on Crocus City Hall.
