TASS to present eventful informative program at World Youth Festival

The TASS stand will include a zone for interaction between reporters and newsmakers and a video studio and will host interactive events and workshops for visitors

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 1. /TASS/. Russia’s TASS news agency will provide information support and become an active participant of the World Youth Festival (WYF) which will be held on March 1-7, 2024, in the federal territory of Sirius, in the south Russian region of Krasnodar.

TASS is the event’s general media partner.

A pool of TASS journalists will cover the festival. The event’s key news stories, as well as speakers' statements and comments will be published on the agency’s news feed, website, and social media accounts. TASS media bank will feature photo and video reports on the most interesting events of the festival’s cultural, sports and exhibition programs.

TASS senior managers will also attend the festival. On March 4, TASS First Deputy Director General Mikhail Gusman will moderate a session on Russia and its role in the shaping of a multipolar world at the 7th Forum of Young Diplomats. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will be the event's special guest. Head of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) Anatoly Torkunov will also join the discussion.

TASS, which turns 120 years old this year, prepared an eventful informative program at its stand, one of the venues of the "Participant’s Passport" that will open at WYF International Airport (Sirius University), Duty Free Zone.

The TASS stand will include a zone for interaction between reporters and newsmakers and a video studio and will host interactive events and workshops for visitors.

The TASS venue will acquaint guests with the agency’s rich history. They will see TASS 120 best photographs taken over 120 years and find out how youth festivals were held in Russia since 1957.

Exhibition projects

TASS will act as a partner in several exhibition projects of the World Youth Festival.

In particular, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia will present an exhibition titled "NATO: A History of a Lie," which will tell about aggressive actions by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization over its entire 75-year history. The exhibit will include more than 20 photographs from TASS archives.

The educational program by the Russian Znanie (Knowledge) society at the festival will include a multimedia exhibition of the national "Knowledge. Russia" photo contest, organized with TASS support. The news agency was the contest’s general partner. Festival guests will see Russia’s latest achievements in science, sports and art through photographs taken by professionals, including TASS photographer Sergey Bobylev, and amateurs from various regions. Almost 30 of them will "come alive" with the use of AR-technologies. The images will be accompanied by visualization effects, interesting facts and audio support.

The World Youth Festival is organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) and operated by the World Youth Festival Directorate.
