Budapest could serve as venue for Europe to see Russian musicians — envoy

As Mikhail Shvydkoy pointed out, Budapest can become a place for listening to Russian music, which is essentially impossible in other European capitals today

BUDAPEST, November 29. /TASS/. Budapest may turn into a place for European music lovers to gather and watch Russian performers, something that is now almost impossible in other European capitals, said Mikhail Shvydkoy, Russian Presidential Envoy for International Cultural Cooperation.

"As I see it today, Budapest could become a place that brings together European music lovers. Hungarian colleagues want to focus on cooperation with the best Russian performers, musicians, and conductors. This will naturally give an additional impetus to the audience. In this sense, Budapest can become a place for listening to Russian music, which is essentially impossible in other European capitals today," Shvydkoy told journalists.

Shvydkoy traveled to Hungary on a working visit, during which he had met with Opera Theater director Szilveszter Okovacs, ballet company director Tamas Solymosi, Palace of Arts director Csaba Kael, acting rector of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music Gyula Fekete, director of the Operetta Theater Attila Kiss B., as well as the management of the Hungarian Art Academy and the capital's circus.
