China International Consumer Products Expo unveils new version of its mascot

The design symbolizes high technology and advanced manufacturing combined with Hainan culture

HAIKOU /China/, March 18. /TASS/. The organizers of the 3rd China International Consumer Products Expo to be held in Hainan on April 10-15 have unveiled a new version of the mascot for this annual event. This time it is represented by a robot gibbon.

The design of the figurine, which brings good fortune to exhibitors and guests at the fair to be held in Haikou, the province's administrative center, symbolizes high technology and advanced manufacturing combined with Hainan culture. The liquid crystal display on the mascot is capable of showing the gibbon's mood with nine different expressions. There are batteries inside the robot and its body parts are connected by gears.

According to tradition, the mascot has two versions, one of them is a female Yuanyuan and the other is a male Xiaoxiao. At the first exhibition, the primates were depicted in the shape of a heart, and last year they were represented by "industry gibbons", symbolizing the most promising areas in the development of Hainan: seed production, deep ocean projects and the aerospace industry.

It is expected that the new mascot will help create a positive atmosphere at the exhibition, contributing to the successful development of the sphere of consumption and tourism.

The area of expositions of China International Consumer Products Expo this year is about 100 thousand square meters, of which 80% is allocated for imported products. This time the guest of honor will be Italy, as well as Germany, the Republic of Korea, the USA, France, Japan and other countries, including participants of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, will be presenting their products and services. Many foreign brands will be presented for the first time, according to the organizers.
