Russian cosmonauts Matveyev, Korsakov move to new rooms aboard ISS

In two months, the cosmonauts will swap rooms, so that each of them has a chance to live in a room with a window

ISS, March 30. /TASS/. Cosmonauts Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov started moving to their new rooms aboard the International Space Station (ISS) after the hatches connecting the ISS and the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft had been closed, TASS special correspondent, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev reported.

In his words, Matveyev will occupy a room of the Zvezda service module, while Korsakov will lodge at the Nauka multi-functional laboratory module.

Two months later, the cosmonauts will swap rooms, so that each of them has a chance to live in a room with a window.

When Matveyev and Korsakov arrived at the ISS, they moved in compartments of the Poisk and Prichal modules. Now, they will move to rooms vacated by Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov, who are to depart to the Earth aboard the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft on Wednesday.

The Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft will undock from the Rassvet module of the Russian ISS segment at 10:21 Moscow time on March 30. It will bring back to the Earth Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubov, as well as NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei.

The reentry capsule is expected to land at approximately 14:28 Moscow time, about 147 km southeast of the Kazakh city of Zhezqazghan.

TASS and Roscosmos signed a cooperation agreement on November 17, 2021. Cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin became the first TASS special reporter on the station. His mission lasted for 12 days. On March 18, the TASS news office aboard the ISS resumed its work, led by TASS special correspondent Oleg Artemyev.
