Russia continues special military op because Ukraine refuses talks — Kremlin

"It is important for us to achieve all the goals that we face in ensuring the security of our country," Dmitry Peskov emphasized

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Moscow is ready to settle the Ukrainian conflict through peace talks, but Kiev refuses to engage in this process, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to a TASS inquiry.

This is how he commented on the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that the armed conflict in Ukraine will end in 2025: "either through a peace treaty or after the collapse of one of the belligerents."

"Our president [Vladimir Putin] has repeatedly emphasized that we are open to settling our differences through peace talks. However, since Ukraine is currently refusing to engage in talks, we continue our [special military] operation," the Kremlin spokesman said.

"It is important for us to achieve all the goals that we face in ensuring the security of our country," he emphasized, adding that Russia is actively advancing in the special military operation zone.

"We see the dynamics [of hostilities]. The dynamics speak for themselves," Peskov said, speaking about the special military operation progress.
