MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Moscow urges the United States, the United Kingdom, and their allies to end any support for Vladimir Zelensky’s regime, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, commenting on Kiev's attack on International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) personnel.
"Kiev’s actions are a clear provocation ahead of an extraordinary meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, set to be held at Ukraine’s initiative on December 12," the statement reads. "We call on the US, the United Kingdom, and their allies to end any support for the Zelensky regime and take measures to bring those responsible for the act of provocation to justice," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
The ministry emphasized that on December 10, the Ukrainian armed forces had carried out a series of strikes on the vehicles carrying IAEA personnel during a routine expert rotation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). "Moscow shares the outrage of the agency’s leadership over these provocative and reckless actions by the Kiev regime, which not only continues to commit crimes, creating threats and attacking Russian nuclear facilities, but has now dared to put the international organization’s staff members and Russian troops ensuring the rotation in mortal danger," the statement notes.
"We strongly condemn these actions by the Kiev regime, which has come to believe in its impunity," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed. "Zelensky and those who support him reckon neither with the consequences nor with the international community’s opinion, in fact, rejecting the very idea and principles of nuclear safety and security, sacrificing those to their ambitions and destructive policy.".
