Over 3,000 children evacuated from Ukrainian border region due to shelling

Director of Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Civil Defense and Population Protection Department Oleg Manuylo noted that the evacuation continues

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Rescuers have evacuated more than 3,000 children from Russian regions bordering Ukraine because of shelling, Oleg Manuylo, Director of Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Civil Defense and Population Protection Department, said.

"Now, we have a new task. This is the evacuation of children to Russian constituent entities," he said. "So far, 3,113 children have been evacuated to 11 Russian regions," he added.

Manuylo noted that the evacuation continues. Children are provided with psychological counseling.

Earlier, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov decided to evacuate 9,000 children from the region's districts bordering Ukraine to other regions of the country, where the children will be welcomed and accommodated.
