VIENNA, March 15. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) are ongoing and productive with the parties implementing many joint projects, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin told reporters on the sidelines of the 67th Session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs.
"I have met UNIDO Director General [Gerd Muller] today. This is the international organization of the UN <...>, with which we have very good relations that can be called working relations. We have many projects, projects that we are doing together, including those funded by Russia, mainly in Central Asian nations, in certain countries of Asia and Africa. And we are in concrete talks about what to do next," the Russian diplomat said.
The deputy foreign minister said that during the session, he met with the head of the Singaporean delegation and representatives from Central Asian republics.
"Other issues were also discussed. Matters of combating terrorism, matters of international information security. These are also issues that need to be discussed in a depoliticized way but absolutely with a focus on the sovereignty and independence of each country," the diplomat added.
