MOSCOW, December 14. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin's combined Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference has been running for more than three hours; over this time, the head of state has fielded 56 questions.
Putin paid much attention to the topic of the special military operation, support for the military and their families, and also spoke in detail about the main Russian social and economic indicators.
The president also commented on a number of international issues, including the future of relations with the EU, the role of the UN in the modern world, and the joint plans of Russia and Turkey. Besides, Putin was asked questions about the severity of responsibility for economic crimes, about the sharp rise in the price of eggs and housing and utilities tariffs, as well as whether Russian athletes should go to the Olympics given the sanctions.
In terms of duration, the current event is still far from being a record-breaker. For example, in 2020, the combined Direct Line Q&A session and year-end press conference lasted for 4 hours and 30 minutes. The record for the duration of a direct line (as a separate format) is 4 hours and 47 minutes, while the record for an annual press conference is 4 hours and 40 minutes.
