Ingushetia airport reinforces security measures over fake reports of flight from Israel

The city administration called on the youth not to succumb to provocations and not to believe unverified information

MAGAS, October 31. /TASS/. The authorities of Ingushetia reinforced security measures in the airport of Magas, located in the city of Sundji, over fake reports that a flight from Israel should arrive in the region, the Sundji city administration press office said.

"Prevention of mass riots, unauthorized rallies and pickets was discussed due to fake reports in social media regarding the arrival of a flight [from Israel]. Such information is false, and the airport of Magas is not an international one. Additional security measures have been taken in order to prevent violations of public order, including reinforced control and enforcement of public order on the airport’s territory," the press office said after the meeting of the counter-terrorist commission.

The city administration called on the youth not to succumb to provocations and not to believe unverified information.

"We ask you to be responsible and to not participate in creation and dissemination of such materials, which can cause harm to the society," the press office added.

Previously, reports appeared on social media that a flight from Israel may arrive in Ingushetia on November 1. However, these reports were debunked by airport director Magomed Tsurov, who called them fake and provocative.

On October 29, mass riots occurred in the airport of Makhachkala over the arrival of a regular flight from Tel Aviv amid the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. Several hundred people entered the airport and the airfield, and were later pushed out by police. According to the latest reports, over 20 people, including policemen, were injured; over 80 rioters were detained. Authorities and religious leaders of Dagestan condemned the incident, connecting it to a provocation.
