Russia-Estonia agreement on customs assistance terminated — statement

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. An agreement between Russia and Estonia on customs cooperation and mutual assistance has been terminated as of March 26, 2023, according to a Russian Foreign Ministry’s official statement posted on Thursday.

"The agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Estonia on customs cooperation and mutual assistance, signed in Moscow on June 8, 1999, has been terminated," the document said.

According to the text of the document, posted on the official website of legal information, Russia and Estonia agreed to take measures to facilitate and accelerate passenger and cargo traffic, to assist each other in preventing and investigating violations of customs laws, to exchange relevant information and to seek the harmonization and unification of customs systems. Initially, the agreement was signed for an "indefinite period."
