Kremlin confirms arrangements for Putin-Lukashenko meeting on Friday

Also, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus is scheduled for April-May

MOSCOW, February 16. /TASS/. The Kremlin confirmed on Thursday that arrangements are currently underway for a meeting on Friday between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko outside Moscow.

"As for arrangements for tomorrow’s meeting between the two presidents, Putin and Lukashenko, yes, I can confirm that such a meeting is being prepared," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, adding that "a substantial conversation" will take place in Novo-Ogaryovo.

The BelTA news agency reported earlier that Lukashenko had announced his upcoming meeting with Putin to foreign and Belarusian media. The Belarusian side said following a phone call between the two leaders on February 5 that they had agreed to appoint a date for their talks soon.

Also, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus is scheduled for April-May.
