Russia to keep raising issue of WWII monuments’ dismantling in Europe — diplomat

We are pressing this issue to be on the agenda not only with the United Nations but the OSCE as well, Grigory Lukyantsev said

UNITED NATIONS, November 5. /TASS/. Russia will continue raising with the international organizations an issue of dismantling of monuments to Soviet soldiers-liberators in Europe, a high-ranking official with the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"We certainly view the dismantling of monuments to soldiers-liberators as a major problem and will continue raising it on the international arena," Russian Foreign Ministry Envoy for Human Rights, Democracy and Supremacy of Law, Deputy Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights Grigory Lukyantsev told journalists.

"We are pressing this issue to be on the agenda not only with the United Nations but the OSCE [the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe] as well," he added.
