Kremlin trusts Defense Ministry Britain was behind attack on Black Sea Fleet

Dmitry Peskov stressed that the Defense Ministry is "more than an official source that deserves absolute trust"

MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. The Kremlin does not need proof from the Russian Defense Ministry of Britain's involvement in the attack on Black Sea Fleet ships and Nord Stream pipelines, since the Defense Ministry is "more than an official source," Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Monday.

The journalists asked him whether the Defense Ministry had presented evidence to the Kremlin of Britain’s involvement in the attack on ships of the Black Sea Fleet on October 29 and the Nord Stream pipelines.

"It is enough for everyone to have a statement from the Defense Ministry, which, relying on the information, the data that can be collected, states this [about the attack]," the Kremlin spokesman said, adding that the Defense Ministry is "more than an official source that deserves absolute trust."

"The very wording [of the question] whether it presented evidence to the Kremlin is wrong. It is not customary for us to provide evidence to each other within one state," Peskov explained.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry said that on October 29, the Kiev regime, with the participation of British specialists, had carried out a terrorist attack on ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships in Sevastopol. Nine drones and seven autonomous marine unmanned vehicles. All of them were destroyed. Also on Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry accused British naval specialists of complicity in the explosions of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in September. The British Defense Ministry disclaimed responsibility for the explosions.
